Municipal authority website

The foundation everything else stands on: a website built around citizens’ life situations rather than the organisational chart, with accessibility required by law taken as a given.

Add to that the things citizens appreciate and that take load off the authority: an electronic official notice board with archive and search, forms that are pre-filled after signing in with the national digital identity or bank identity and sent straight to the authority, online payment of fees for dogs, waste or parking, booking an appointment at the counter, tracking the status of a submitted application, maps and an events calendar, emergency information, and an assistant that answers questions from the authority’s content in whatever language you ask. We connect it to the records management system and the other systems the authority already uses, so nothing has to be retyped twice.

02

High-performance, secure and flexible CMS

A municipal website is managed by dozens of people with different permissions and varying levels of experience, and it has to survive the day the whole city shows up at once. That is why we build the content management system with roles and content approval, version history, accessibility checked right in the editor, two-factor sign-in and an audit log, and with performance that can handle elections, an emergency or the launch of a major campaign.

One piece of content serves the website, the mobile app, the official notice board and other channels, and new websites or sections are created in the same environment without starting a new project.

03

Intranet

An authority with hundreds of employees and dozens of departments needs an internal environment where people, documents and procedures can be found: organisational structure and contacts, directives and internal regulations with versions and read confirmation, a DMS for documents with permissions, approval and links to the records management system, requests for leave, vehicles or meeting rooms, a helpdesk, onboarding of new colleagues and internal communication from management.

It also includes an internal shop: orders of promotional items, printed materials, office supplies or employee tickets across departments and subsidised organisations, with the budgets and approval workflows the authority has set up. All under a single sign-on, with access from mobile too.

04

Community and participation portal

A citizen who wants to report or influence something should have it within reach on their phone. Our issue reporting system takes in a report with a photo and location, forwards it to the right department or organisation and shows publicly what stage the solution has reached. We extend the same principle to participatory budgeting with voting, polls, public comments on the city’s plans and the agenda of committees and city districts, so that the authority has all suggestions in one place, together with an overview of how they were dealt with.

05

Mobile app for a city, region, initiative or project

News, waste collection, road closures, emergency alerts, events, issue reporting, parking: information that should land in people’s pockets, not on the notice board. We connect the app to the website and the content management system, so content is entered once, and we target push notifications by citizens’ location or interests.

We build apps for a specific initiative or project the same way – a festival, a cycle path network, a tourist card or an awareness campaign – with content that works even without a signal.

06

Multisite platform for subsidised organisations

Libraries, museums, theatres, exhibition grounds, schools, sports venues: each organisation needs its own website, programme and often ticket sales, but not its own technology, administrator and security regime. On one platform, each of them gets a website in its own look within the founder’s identity and full content management, while updates, security, accessibility and performance are handled centrally, once and for all of them.

07

Campaign and project microsites

Some topics deserve a space of their own outside the authority’s structure: a new visual identity, an awareness campaign, the presentation of a strategy or an investment plan, a grant call, public participation in a major project. We build microsites fast, with their own story and look within the founder’s identity, with measurement of what visitors actually did, and on the same technical foundation as the main website, so the authority manages it itself.

08

Tourism portal

Visitors want to know where to go, what is open, how to get there and where to stay – and they want it in the language they speak. A destination marketing portal brings an interactive map, routes, accommodation, events, seasonal content and data from partners in the destination together in one place, with multiple languages and visibility in search engines. We connect it to bookings, a tourist card or a mobile app, so that information turns into a stay.
